Homes come to us at five different moments. Each one is a different amount of work, so each one is scoped and quoted separately rather than pushed into a single retainer.

One plan, one comprehensive functional assessment, one team meeting, one annual review. For homes that have the role covered but hit a piece of work they cannot absorb this month.
Your QIDP is on leave, or gave notice last week. We step in so the role is never vacant, and so nobody has to explain a gap to a surveyor later.
We read your program plans, data and progress notes the way a surveyor does, and give you a written list of what would be cited and what to fix first.

Assignment happens after that call, not before it, so the match is made against what you actually described. We look for an experienced local professional first.
Hours, rate, what gets delivered and what stays yours. You see the estimated total before anything starts. The agreement is between your home and the QIDP.
Standard terms are 50 percent to start and the balance on completion, paid to the QIDP directly. For ongoing hours the cadence is agreed up front so there are no surprises.
Ten hours is roughly one week of the qualified professional service a six-bed home is expected to provide, so it is a real starting point rather than a token minimum.
We are a matching service. QIDP Consulting does not collect your fee and does not take a share of the hourly rate. The agreement and the payment are between your home and the professional.

A qualified intellectual disability professional is the person federal rules make responsible for integrating, coordinating and monitoring each resident's active treatment program in an intermediate care facility for individuals with intellectual disabilities. The role carries a defined experience requirement and a defined list of qualifying professional backgrounds.
Every QIDP needs at least one year of experience working directly with people who have intellectual disability or other developmental disabilities, plus one of the professional backgrounds below. The experience requirement applies on top of the credential, not instead of it.

Requirements above are taken from the federal conditions of participation for intermediate care facilities at 42 CFR 483.430. Note the detail most summaries get wrong: a psychologist needs a master's degree, not a bachelor's.
California sets the qualified professional service at 1.75 hours per client per week. In a six-bed home that is 10.5 hours a week. Read it as a floor rather than a plan: a home rebuilding its records, or working through a plan of correction, normally needs more at the start and less once the systems hold.
